My friend Marie tells me that my mother is so funny. Well, here is one for Marie!
Yesterday while I was doing overtime at school my mother called Jerry, "Joan is going to be so upset over this! Someone broke into my home and stole Dad's wallet from the thing she made me." The thing is a shadow box. I made two. One is for Mother's with items from her beautician days. The other is full of horsey - work - wallet stuff of my dad's. Everyone comments on them.
So today after church she has me come up. "Ruth told me on Thursday that it was gone. I told them downstairs and they said I need to tell Phil [the manager]. He lives across the street now. His wife kicked him out because he eats here too much." [okay]
The shadow box was set on an end table rather than hanging on the wall. So I walked over to it and examined it. "Mother, the wallet is here."
"No it isn't. [pause] It is not in the right place then."
"Well, it is right here where it belongs. Ruth shouldn't get you so upset over nothing."
No answer; then "I love the pictures you brought of my parents' home." [See the entry with the Google map below]. She just called to tell me again that she loves the pictures. lol

Yes, I heard thee whole sad story yesterday. When mother said Ruth B said it was gone I believed it had actually happened.. So It will be fun to see if mother calls and tells me it was "returned" or something. I was pretty angry about someone taing it too!!! But I am glad it is safe and sound.
