Okay, I really need to start cleaning out a closet or work on taxes or something. Far, far too many blog entries in 1 day.
Oh, the photo is a view of the snow at our beach place.
Jerry came home today in MY car, the heroic Subaru of legendary fame, and took me to Fred Meyer to do some Christmas foods shopping. I probably could have waited until Tuesday or Wednesday when this weather will hopefully melt itself into a normal Washingtonian bluster. But no, having been cooped up for 5 days, okay, 4 if you don't count my excursion to Portland to have needles punched into my back, I really wanted to get some of the shopping done NOW! So our sturdy little steed plows down the hill to the PACKED parking lot of Freddies. We walk between cars to avoid the packed ice and make it to a dry sidewalk. Inside: bedlam. Okay, I exaggerate, more like pilgrims winding their way through a holy shrine.
I chatted with at least 10 school district employees, a church member, and Cathy Z. to whom I mentioned that there were enough people to have a great town hall meeting. Jerry talked with loads of people from his work also. Heck! This was tons of fun!
We picked a trail to the checkout stands, all manned, by the way. Jerry maneuvered out of the traffic and planted himself. I remembered that I forgot an item and deserted him. On the way back, I remembered 3 more things. So he was rather surprised when I arrived with my arms full. Lucky for my back that the items were all light! And guess what? I remembered something else that I forgot and told him that I was going to get it. Just then he could advance the cart to the conveyor belt, and sounded rather panicked that I was going to leave him. (Keep in mind: Jerry does not grocery shop, yet he has gone twice with me this week). I power-walked up the aisle and back before he even had started unpacking stuff. The clerk told us that it had been this busy ALL day! Here I thought it was just the "get to the store tonight before we are frozen into our homes" hysteria. Oh wait, that was me! lol
Climbing the hill we saw only 2 other "brave" drivers and 2 deer. What fun! Really.
