I had a great birthday. As I was talking to Janene someone knocked on the door. She said, "Oh, it must be flowers." I thought she sent them, but no, the gorgeous, fragrant bouquet was from Carla who works with me. That was a nice surprise.
Then Jerry took me to our fave restaurant and we took off to the James Taylor concert at the amphitheater. It was our first time there. It is a great venue. We were in the seating that was covered by the clamshell and had a really good view of the stage. Behind the covered seating is a sloping lawn that people throw blankets over in order to lounge and listen. It was a gorgeous night.
Jessica made fun of me when I commented on audience behavior. About half of our row was late, late, late. And they all came in with beer. Then they all went out to the restrooms. But came back again with more beer. Then went out to the restrooms. Then came in with more.... You get the idea. Then little patches of audience stood and swayed in front of others. To see you had to stand up also. Droves of people came in while he was performing and left while he was performing. People ran up to the front and were run off by the security. People took photos with their phones and were glowered at by the security. After Jessica listened to me a while she said, "I call tell you haven't been to a music concert before." (I could tell she was smirking.) Actually, I have! I have been to a Billy Joel in the nosebleed seats and to Kitaro. Ha!
Loved, loved, loved the venue and the music!
