Benita and I went on a lighthouse tour. First we went to the North Head Lighthouse, and luckily was able to go to the top, as you can see from the photo. Take some cash, as they do charge a small amount to help maintain the lighthouse and park. It is a good idea to come in the early afternoon: cloud cover gone, and still time to check out the gift shop. I only mention this as I always, always am too late for the gift shop. They don't take pity when they are counting the day's take behind locked doors. We drove over to the Cape Disappointment site, which is only accessed through the Coast Guard base. Thanks to increased security we had to walk quite a ways, with me warning Benita about the steep incline to it. We just started up the incline (Benita was really looking forward to it) and ran into a new gate. I was really torqued. So, that was a disappointment. I drove her to Waikiki to show her it from the jetty side. Good shots from there!
